Foundation of Light has teamed up with a North East artist to raise funds by celebrating the City of Sunderland's rich cultural heritage. The 'I Love This City' collection by Jane Lee McCracken represents the unique spirit that exists in cities across the globe, adorning t-shirts, posters and limited-edition prints. Constructing intricate multi-layered drawings using only biro pens, Jane's 'Sunderland' artwork pays homage to historic associations with our great city, from shipbuilding and glassmaking to football and famous Wearside landmarks. The partnership will see 5% of profits from the sale of each Sunderland t-shirt donated to Foundation of Light, which will help improve the lives of thousands of young people, adults and families across the North East. Jane said: "I am very proud to be partnering with the Foundation of Light and helping support their amazing work in the community.
Every city I visit, no matter how big or small, has beauty, accomplishment and spirit in abundance and Sunderland epitomises that.

Kick-starting the project in my adopted backyard of the North East was the obvious choice, celebrating its cities, communities, history and local environment in a unique way." Jemma Dowson, Foundation of Light's Events Manager, added: "We are delighted Jane has chosen Foundation of Light as a charity partner for her 'I Love This City' collection. "Her work is fantastic, so intricate, and captures Sunderland's heritage perfectly. "We are certain the design will prove very popular with the people of Sunderland who are passionate about their city and its history." Jane will also be delivering drawing classes from the Beacon of Light starting Saturday 24th November. For more information, call 07931586805 or email jane@janeleemccracken.co.uk
