ATW backs Foundation of Light Fan Zone for Sunderland AFC’s Dedicated Matchday

Wearside’s go-to landscaping experts, ATW – Around the World Tree and Landscaping Specialists, are collaborating with the Foundation of Light to make this season’s dedicated matchday the most impactful yet.

Sunderland AFC’s fixture with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday 14 March will be dedicated to celebrating the life-changing work delivered across the North East by the club’s official charity.

ATW’s support will enable the Foundation to host a bumper pre-match Fan Zone at the Beacon of Light, creating a hive of activity with something for supporters of all ages.

From free football kickabouts on the outdoor pitches, to multi-sports, face painting, and arts and crafts inside the Beacon, the Fan Zone will be the place to build matchday excitement before heading to the Stadium of Light.

ATW continue their long-standing support of the Foundation of Light, from sponsoring one of the Beacon’s outdoor pitches to helping bring festive cheer to the community with the installation of a stunning Christmas tree each December.

Now, the local tree surgery and landscaping specialists are turning their attention to supporting one of the Foundation’s biggest fundraising events of the year, helping to shine a spotlight on the charity’s impact across the region.

On sponsoring the Foundation of Light’s Matchday Fan Zone, David Boucher, Managing Director of ATW said: “We are proud to be supporting the Foundation of Light on the delivery of their dedicated matchday this season.

“As a local business, giving back to the community that supports us is hugely important, and having worked with the Foundation before, we understand the opportunity they give us to do so.

“As the official charity of Sunderland AFC, they use Wearside’s passion for its football club to make a real, lasting different to people of all ages.”

Foundation of Light Development Manager, Michael Duell added: “We’re incredibly grateful to ATW for their continued support and for sponsoring this year’s Foundation of Light Matchday Fan Zone.

“Their backing allows us to create an action-packed Fan Zone which will hopefully attract a lot of supporters to come along, try some activities, and maybe learn more about our work while they’re here.

“Foundation of Light Matchday is all about showcasing how we use the power of football for the good of our community, and we’re proud to have ATW on board to help us spread that message.”
