Sonny’s derby-day surprise
Nine-year-old Sunderland super fan Sonny Nunn received a big surprise during a school assembly this week, and it’s one he’s still struggling to believe.
Black Cats duo Dan Neil and Leon Dajaku showed off their flicks and tricks as they joined budding footballers at the Beacon of Light.
Scores of youngsters enjoyed Foundation of Light holiday courses during the summer holidays – as well as the bonus of meeting the two stars!
During the school break, SAFC’s official charity hosted sessions for children of all ages, and the Beacon has been a hive of activity with youngsters taking part in various activities.
Future stars took to the 3G pitches to hone their skills with our coaches, while disability multi-sports sessions took place indoors with parents and kids competing in a number of different games.
The Beacon of Light has a timetable of activities for people of all ages – see What’s On here
Evening and weekend football sessions also take place, Little Dribblers, Little Skills and Game Play sessions start from £2 each and cater kids aged 3 all the way up to 14 years.
