Wear 25: Young footballer Isla Cameron earns England Deaf Futsal call-up
Foundation of Light has recognised Isla Cameron as one of its Wear 25 award winners, following her call-up to the England U13s Deaf Futsal team.
It’s been over a decade since the region last come together for the first ever Carols of Light concert with the second instalment just weeks away.
The previous edition was held in 2011 to mark the tenth anniversary of the Foundation of Light, raising over £100,000, as the event was met with Royal approval with the HRH The Countess of Wessex, the Foundation’s Royal Patron, in attendance.
Opera legend Sir Thomas Allen CBE, X Factor winner Joe McElderry and Scottish musician Barbara Dickson OBE were just some of the stars who completed the 2011 programme.
Durham Cathedral will open its doors to a Carols of Light production for a second time on 15 December, however, not only will the evening take place in a magnificent setting, world renowned and multi-award lyricist, Sir Tim Rice, will also produce the unique festivities.
Once again, Carols of Light will be completed by a star-studded line-up, bringing together trustees, partners and supporters as well as the people who benefit from our work.
Featuring a variety of musical performances and readings against the backdrop of the Cathedral’s stunning stone vaulted ceiling, this concert will raise vital funds for the Foundation of Light and will make a life-changing difference to thousands of children and families across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.
