Community Fun Day returns to the Beacon of Light

Community Fun Day returns to the Beacon of Light

This Thursday sees our Free Community Fun Day return to the Beacon of Light.

After the success of last year's event, Thursday promises to be bigger and better than with some new additions added to this year's lineup.
With a range of activities for all the family, from multi-sports to our UV Dance Room, there promises to be something for everyone.
The free event sponsored by Get Out Get Active (GOGA) will also see local and national organisations head to the Beacon for the Fun Day. England Netball and local handball side, Newcastle Vikings, will be in attendance offering handball and netball taster sessions with a whole host of other sports also on offer throughout the day.
Last year's attendees were treated to an extra special visit from mascots Samson and Delilah with stars from Sunderland AFC's Womens side and Head Coach Melanie Reay also in attendance. Keep an eye out across the day as some Black Cats stars may be headed to the Beacon for these years event.
The fun day starts at 10am and runs until 3pm with activities running across the day.
