Jas Singh, Inspires Coordinator at the Foundation of LightGreenfield Community College have engaged with the highly successful Inspires project and students have been challenged to develop ways in which Sunderland AFC can continually communicate and connect with its fans during these current exceptional times in partnership with livin. The year 7 students were given some information about Sunderland AFC and the Foundation of Light and were set a task. They explored their ideas and put this together in a suitable format to meet the ‘Dragons Den’ style pitch later in the process. Katy Milne, Creative Director at Greenfield Community College added: “It’s great to engage the students with a meaningful enquiry that stimulates them to explore ideas and express themselves. It was good to see the ideas they came up with and I look forward to seeing these develop further as we connect again with Foundation of Light”. The Inspires programme aims to positively engage and integrate Foundation staff into schools to support Gatsby Benchmarks to achieve school outcomes and develop participants life skills.
