What’s happening?
The Beacon of Light is a hero venue for Team GB’s
Nation’s Biggest Sports Day, a nationwide event aimed at getting people involved in sport.
We’ll be running sessions in badminton, table tennis, futsal, netball, football (including walking football), mini golf, dance, tag rugby, athletics and much more.
There will also be an appearance from Olympic gymnast Amy Tinkler who took Bronze at the 2016 Rio De Janeiro games.
How much does it cost?
It’s absolutely
FREE!
You’re very welcome to make a charitable donation whilst you’re at the Beacon (which will help us create more sporting opportunities for more people) but there’s no obligation.
Where is it happening?
At the
Beacon of Light, next to the Aquatic Centre and Hilton Garden Inn on the Stadium Park site.
When is it happening?
Saturday 24
th August, 10am-3pm
Do I need to book?
You can pre-register
HERE but otherwise you can just turn up and play.
Can disabled people take part too?
Absolutely. We will even be running activities tailored for those with disabilities.
Do I need a match ticket to take part?
No, there is a
Sunderland AFC home game on the same day meaning the site will get a little busy towards 3pm but you’re very welcome even if you don’t have a ticket.
