Wear 25: Young footballer Isla Cameron earns England Deaf Futsal call-up
Foundation of Light has recognised Isla Cameron as one of its Wear 25 award winners, following her call-up to the England U13s Deaf Futsal team.
It is vital we teach children the importance of drinking water, staying hydrated and the danger of consuming too much sugar.
Danielle Chapman, Foundation of Light’s Primary Stars CoordinatorDanielle added “The Powered by Water programme is a fantastic way to educate children on how to stay topped up with water throughout the day and most importantly that water keeps your brain healthy, helps you think clearly, improves your mood and prevents you from getting tired. These are really important messages for young children, as it will help them to form healthy habits.” Northumbrian Water has also installed two water refill stations at the charity’s home, the Beacon of Light. As part of the Refill programme, people can fill up their refillable bottles with tap water, free of charge, in order to reduce plastic waste and encourage people to live healthier lives.

This year’s event carries extra significance as Sunderland AFC’s official charity celebrates its 25th anniversary, making it a perfect opportunity to come together and mark a milestone year.
Players from the Emerging Talent Centre, Player Development Club, and Female Scholarship programmes, ranging from U13s to U18s, took part in a week-long training camp in the Netherlands.
