SAFC players to wear commemorative shirts
As part of the Foundation of Light’s dedicated matchday on Saturday, the team will sport commemorative shirts. Sunderland host Accrington Stanley at the Stadium of Light this weekend and the game is being used as an opportunity to showcase the work of the club’s official charity and to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The players will each wear a shirt with a special Foundation 20th birthday logo on the chest as well as t-shirts during the warm-up with special thank you messages for the continuous support throughout the last two decades. The shirts will be auctioned after the game on eBay, with all proceeds going straight back to the Foundation to help support the work they do. Each season, there is one fixture dedicated to highlighting the good work of the Foundation and helping with fundraising. Despite having no supporters in the stadium to celebrate the occasion, this season is no different. There will be various activities across both the club’s digital and social channels and supporters will also be able to hear from those who have benefitted from the work of the Foundation on the live matchday stream. The Ha’way and Play matchday lottery will also be taking place with a £1,000 in the prize pot as well as a framed signed Niall Quinn print. Tickets are available now at www.hawayandplay.com You can also lend your support to the Foundation by donating online via https://justgiving.com/safc or by texting FOLFIVE to 70085 to donate £5.
