Foundation of Light hosted its latest Skills Showcase Business Breakfast at the Beacon of Light, as partners and funders got the opportunity to witness the different programmes on offer.
The Skills Showcase offered the perfect chance for local organisations to experience the range of adult learning and employability opportunities available.
Scores of businesses were welcomed to the event by Foundation Managing Director, Jamie Wright, with the audience given an overview of Sunderland AFC’s official charity.
Vantec, a logistics solution provider in the automotive parts logistics field, also took to the stage, speaking about our partnership, highlighting the impressive work they do with the Foundation.
From employability programmes designed to support jobseekers across the North East to interactive courses which focus on parents, grandparents and carers supporting their child’s development, Foundation staff were soon able to network – showcasing all the different provisions to external partners and funders.
Scott Taylor, Assistant Head of Skills, was delighted with the turnout and is already looking forward to the next opportunity to showcase his department’s programmes. “Today was a really successful day.
“Bringing businesses together from throughout the region, promoting all of our courses, hopefully on the back of this showcase, we can get even more participants into employment.
“We work tirelessly to make a difference to the lives of the people we work with and I hope we get to do something like this again soon.”
Business Breakfasts take place every quarter, together with our IT services partner, Aspire Technology Solutions events.
