Foundation of Light and Durham Country Council are helping to tackle holiday hunger and giving free lunches away to participants who take part in activities over the summer. Delivered in partnership with Durham County Council, we are helping families combat the increasing costs during school breaks by offering free sport, art and craft sessions which include lunch to families and children who take part in a number of our programmes throughout the school holidays at our outreach sites.
  • Tuesday 13th – Friday 16th August 9.30am – 3pm, Centre of Light, Chester-le-Street
  • Tuesday 13th – Friday 16th August 9.30am – 3pm, Trimdon Village Hall, Trimdon, TS29 6JX
  • Monday 19th – Thursday 22nd August 9.30am – 3pm, Foundations, Shildon, DL4 1DX
  • Tuesday 27th – Friday 30th August 9.30am – 3pm, Stanley Community Football Centre, DH9 6PZ
Early drop off from 9.15am are available at the above sessions. Michael Colclough, Head of Operations at the Foundation of Light said: “We work with hundreds of youngsters and families throughout the holidays and many say they find it difficult not only to keep their young ones entertained but also the increase in costs."
The Foundation of Light have a real focus on improving health and wellbeing not only in children but adults too and by working with Durham County Council we hope to make a difference.
