Wear 25: Young footballer Isla Cameron earns England Deaf Futsal call-up
Foundation of Light has recognised Isla Cameron as one of its Wear 25 award winners, following her call-up to the England U13s Deaf Futsal team.
Youngsters are taking action to help clean up their community thanks to Foundation of Light’s partnership with two local businesses.
The Seaburn Inn and The Stack Seaburn have boosted the Foundation of Light’s youth engagement programmes with a donation that will benefit the whole city.
Members of the Foundation’s YOLO and Premier League Kicks schemes took part in a litter pick to help clean up Sunderland seafront.
The programmes engage youngsters in a number of intervention activities and thanks to the support of The Seaburn Inn and The Stack Seaburn, the latest social action project has been a great success.
Scores of youngsters got involved in the big clean up and as a reward for their efforts, they enjoyed a meal courtesy of The Stack Seaburn.
Gemma Dishman, a representative of the Stack said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Foundation of Light’s youth engagement programmes and have the opportunity to give something back to the young people in our community.
“It’s really important to the Stack to play a positive role in the wider community and the big clean up not only benefited the residents of Seaburn but also our independent businesses.”

This year’s event carries extra significance as Sunderland AFC’s official charity celebrates its 25th anniversary, making it a perfect opportunity to come together and mark a milestone year.
Players from the Emerging Talent Centre, Player Development Club, and Female Scholarship programmes, ranging from U13s to U18s, took part in a week-long training camp in the Netherlands.
